COVINGTON - Two gunmen robbed the attendant at the BP station at 3501 Salem Road Thursday night, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
An incident report completed by Deputy Christopher Bass revealed that deputies responded to the location at 11:43 p.m. and were told by the clerk that two black men entered his store and pointed two silver handguns at him, demanding all the money from his cash register. He described the first man as about 40 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches talk and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a green hoodie sweatshirt, white tennis shoes, a black baseball cap and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as being much shorter, around 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and wearing blue jean shorts, white tennis shoes, a black bubble jacket, a white T-shirt and a blue baseball cap with a silver sticker on the bill. "The suspects forced (the victim) to the floor as they fled. After fleeing the scene, (the victim) stated that the two suspects ran back in the direction of Salem Road," the report stated.
