Mullins Letter - 07/08/09

Thankfully, after six months of the Obama administration, people are becoming more aware and concerned about the direction he and the Congress are taking the country. I see nothing of significance accomplished to the betterment of the country. Quite the contrary, much that has been accomplished has, or will have, a detrimental effect on preserving and protecting the Constitution and culture the founding fathers gave us.

On a number of occasions I have heard comments like "he is really an intelligent person." Yet, he continues to make stupid proposals that question his legitimacy to hold the office. Following are a few. Issuing Executive Order to close "gitmo," (opposed by some of his own party), not to mention the question of constitutionality. It is my understanding that all of the detainees (mostly Muslim) were captured on the battlefield, not in uniform representing any country, are defined as enemy combatants, and therefore are not protected by provisions of the Geneva Convention. It is further understood that an EO must be based on current law, which doesn't exist. It is reported that most of the detainees are Muslim radicals committed to the destruction of America, and raises the question, what compels the president, who is sworn to preserve protect and defend our Constitution, to be so sympathetic to their plight?

The appointment of Czars, (I've lost count), Czar being defined as; emperor, despot, autocrat, monarch, or any person exercising great authority or power; one who has undisputed power or influence; an absolute ruler.

He has said that he is "deeply troubled" over election fraud in Iran, while at the same time seemingly ignoring incidents of election fraud attributed to ACORN.

The "urgency" of committing the people (with cooperation of a Congress who can pass legislation without reading it) to obscene spending levels.

Recently in Turkey he said, "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values." Whose ideals and whose values? The preamble to all 50 state constitutions make reference to God. Allah and the Koran are not mentioned in any of them. Christianity is defined as "The body of Christian believers; Christendom. Christendom is, 1). The whole body of Christians; the church. 2). That portion of the world in which Christianity prevails, in distinction from heathen or Mohammedan lands." Christian teachings are evidenced throughout the Declaration of Independence, and our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

I regard all of the foregoing as un-American, which raises the question, what is the ultimate objective? Could it be subversion, by creating chaos and turmoil, leading to undermining and eventual overthrowing government? History confirms that every great power has fallen from corruption within, which seems very much in evidence today, and so few are paying attention.
