Recycling Newton County residents only may recycle household electronics, paints and dispose of pesticides on the first Saturday of each month. No TVs or commercial wastes accepted. Heartland Hospice Heartland Hospice, formerly Portsbridge Hospice, is seeking volunteers to spend time with terminally ill patients. Training will be provided. Activities include listening, reading and praying or, if preferred, office or maintenance duties. Creative Volunteers Creative Ministries Thrift Store, 1279 Green St. in Conyers, is seeking donations of working appliances and furniture in good condition. Also, volunteers are needed to help receive, sort and price clothing two days a week. Special Needs Coaches Rockdale County Therapeutic Recreation needs energetic, sports-minded individuals to help instruct and train youth and adults with special needs in sporting activities.
