Social Circle full of events for Christmas

SOCIAL CIRCLE -- The city of Social Circle is in the Christmas spirit.This month, the city and several organizations and businesses are holding Christmas-centered events, including the Circle of Lights celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the city park on West Hightower Trail.

Court approves TCM restructuring plan

LAWRENCEVILLE, GEORGIA, December 8, 2009 -- Triple Crown Media, Inc., parent company of the Rockdale Citizen and Newton Citizen, announced that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware has approved its "pre-arranged" Plan of Reorganization following the unanimous vote of the classes of claimants in favor of the Plan. The company expects to consummate the Plan promptly after formal entry of the Court order confirming the Plan.

A new direction: Driver's license program gets overhaul

COVINGTON — Things changed last week at the Georgia Department of Driver Services. After more than a year of preparation, it instituted a program that revamps the entire driver's license system, one that is designed to ensure enhanced customer service and a more secure document, according to DDS Commissioner Greg Dozier.
