Wynne appointed Superior Court judge

COVINGTON -- District Attorney W. Kendall Wynne Jr. has been selected by Gov. Sonny Perdue to fill the fifth judgeship in the Superior Court of the Alcovy Judicial Circuit, the governor's office announced Tuesday.

One person dies in crash

COVINGTON — Cpl. Shane Allen of Georgia State Patrol Post 46 said the only traffic fatality the post worked during the Christmas holiday period occurred Sunday morning around 7:15 on Ga. Highway 138, near the Forrester Cemetery Road intersection in Walton County.

Airport authority vote set

COVINGTON — The City Council is expected to vote on the formation of an airport authority to oversee the Covington Municipal Airport at its Monday night meeting.
