Groups urge nonprofits to join network

CONYERS -- The United Way in Rockdale County and the Rockdale Coalition for Children and Families invite all nonprofit agencies to join the newly created Community Resource Network.

The next monthly CRN meeting is scheduled for noon Jan. 4 at the Rockdale County Government Annex at 1400 Parker Road.

United Way in Rockdale Area Director Claire Cline said other communities have similar resource networks as a way to maximize the efforts of all groups and collaborate.

"The Community Resources Network provides an opportunity for us to come together to identify community resources and needs, share information of mutual interest and support each other as service providers," said Cline. "This collaborative helps us become more effective and efficient in meeting the needs of those we serve."

January's meeting will feature a guest speaker who will give tips on successful grant writing, followed by an opportunity for attendees to share information on their organization and the services they provide.

A light lunch will be provided, so those planning to attend should call the United Way in Rockdale office at 678-623-2890 or e-mail rockdale@unitedwayatlanta.org.

CRN meetings are normally held the first Monday of each month. Due to scheduling conflicts, meeting dates may change.
