Florence Barnes waits in line to mail a Christmas present to Ludowici on Tuesday afternoon at the Covington Post Office.
Traffic at the post office has been steady during the holiday rush, when the U.S. Postal Service expected to handle 16.6 billion cards, letters and packages between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
According to the Postal Service, today is the deadline for Express Mail to reach its destination by Christmas Eve.
