The Covington Post Office recently honored present and past employees, their spouses and veterans at a luncheon.
City Councilwoman Hawnethia Williams spoke and Newton County Clerk Jackie Smith issued a proclamation from the Newton County Board of Commissioners honoring retired postal workers and their families.
"The city of Covington and Newton County owe our retired employees and their families a debt of gratitude for the years of service they have rendered. These retirees paved the way for our present employees and we deeply appreciate their years of dedicated service," Postmaster Shane Williams said.
