Man charged with cruelty to children

COVINGTON - The Newton County Sheriff's Office arrested a man involved in a fight with his wife, but who allegedly took it out on his children by not allowing them to eat all day, according to an NCSO incident report.

Stolen phones found

COVINGTON - The Newton County Sheriff's Office responded to a complaint of a theft at Factory Shoals Park and was able to track the alleged thief with some high-tech assistance, according to an incident report completed by Deputy Matt Roberts.
