CONYERS - The Heritage boys golf team recorded a runner-up finish in the Heritage Invitational on Thursday at Honey Creek Country Club.
The Patriots finished with a team score of 332 - 10 strokes behind first-place Elbert County. Union Grove was third at 334, Habersham Central placed fourth at 338 while Ola rounded out the top five at 340. Rockdale, the only other local team in the event, finished eighth at 392. Heritage's Harrison Elliott recorded the top individual finish, placing third with a 76. Elbert County's Tyler Winn was the individual medalist after beating Union Grove's Clint Parker in a one-hole playoff. Both players finished with 75s. Heritage's Hunter Elliott, who played as individual in the event, placed seventh with a 79. Rounding out the Heritage top four were Bennett Mitchell (83), Joey Liston (86) and Chris Howard (87). Eric Richardson recorded Rockdale's lowest round with a 92. Heritage, Rockdale and Salem will return to action in Monday's Region 8-AAAA Tournament at Chateau Elan.More like this story
