Secrets for success
Miss Georgia pays visit to Porterdale Elementary

Porterdale Elementary School students, from left, Chelsea Augusta, Natalea Lue-Fung, Jala Johnston and Mirelle Thomas escort Miss Georgia Chasity Renee Hardman down the school halls to the cafeteria with school Principal Lizzella Dodson. Hardman, Miss Georgia and first runner-up to Miss America, spoke to third-, fourth- and fifth-grade girls at the school Friday morning. She encouraged the girls to find out who they really are and embrace it; look in the mirror every day and tell themselves that they are beautiful; go for success and write down their life goals or make a picture of it and look at that goal every day; and work hard to reach their goals because nothing in life is free. She also sang "You Gotta Believe" by Yolanda Adams, answered several questions and took group pictures. The Porterdale cheerleaders and dance team paid tribute to Miss Georgia by performing to the song "Black Butterfly," and the Pearls of Essence Girls Group presented Miss Georgia with a small gift that they had created, along with a Porterdale Elementary shirt.
