Pastor Robert and Mrs. JoAnn Raynor of Covington announce the engagement of their daughter, Monica Paige Raynor, to Pastor Jason Edwin Dees of Huntsville, Ala., son of Mr. John and Mrs. Nancy Dees of Huntsville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Tyree Farris and the late Mrs. Faye Farris of Newbern, Va., and Mrs. Coleen Raynor of Covington and the late Bruce Raynor of Conyers. She is a 1998 graduate of Eastside High and a 2003 graduate of Atlanta Christian College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in biblical studies specializing in teaching and an associate's degree in business. After graduation, she worked at North Point Ministries in Atlanta, and then guest relations at Turpin Meadow Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyo. She now resides in Covington.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Alvin and Adeline Dees of Mobile, Ala., Donna Kellis and the late Edwin Kellis of Huntsville. He is a graduate of Grissom High School in Huntsville and a magna cum laud graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a degree in communications and a minor in history. He is also a graduate of Southern Seminary, where he earned a master of divinity degree and where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in applied theology. He serves as senior pastor of the First Baptist Church in Covington.
The couple plans to wed May 23 at the FFA Camp in Covington.
