Oxford students take time to stop and admire beagle-mixes Shea, left, and Charlie who are enjoying a stroll through the campus. Volunteer Eric Kelliher, left, works with the dogs through the college's P.O.O.C.H. Palace, a student-run foster dog program that assists local pet adoption group, Pound Puppies 'n' Kittens. According to faculty adviser Gayle Doherty, the group has assisted more than 20 dogs in finding new homes. On Nov. 1 the group will hold Paw Fest featuring contests for Best Kisser, Best Dog Trick and Best Costume. It is open to any interested canines. For more information or to make a donation to the program, call 770-784-4642. For information on pet adoption, call 770-784-8352.More like this story
