The Eastside volleyball squad dropped a pair of region matches Thursday to host Hart County 25-12, 25-8 and Morgan County 26-24, 19-25, 24-26.
"Hart County is a good team and outplayed us hands down," Eastside coach Angie Lewis said. The Lady Eagles fell to 12-15 overall this season. "We beat Morgan County earlier in the season in three games, but we played well that day," Lewis said. "Tonight, we were playing on their mistakes (and) not playing our game. Serving aces has been one of our strengths, but we had 15 combined service errors in the three games against them. It's difficult to win a match when the ball doesn't go over the net on serves. We also didn't execute our kills, blocks and tips like we did when we played them earlier." Eastside's Katie Johnston and Gabe Parker each had five kills. Nia Mullins recorded four kills and four blocks. Naomi Wills and Ashley Aycox combined for 11 digs. Mary Sheets led Eastside with 13 assists.More like this story
