Lady Bulldogs earn sweep

BETHLEHEM - The Rockdale volleyball squad recorded a pair of matches Thursday against Morgan County (25-16, 25-17) and Apalachee (25-14, 25-14).

"It was good to pick up another region win," Rockdale coach Stephen Sansing said. "I wanted to see how the girls would respond after Tuesday, and we communicated better and we moved the ball around pretty good. Our passing has to keep improving, and our serving is too inconsistent."

Rockdale's Kelsey Girardot had 10 kills, 10 aces and one block. Tayla Mitchell added 12 kills, while Chelsea Nunn had 21 assists.

"Chelsea did a great job of getting the ball to our hitters so we (could) stay aggressive," Sansing said. "We just have to do a better job passing the ball so she isn't tired out by the end of the night."

Jakarrea Mustaf had six kills and one block, while Jasmin Miller had three kills and three aces.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-9 overall and 5-1 in Area 8-AAAA.
