COVINGTON - The Subway sandwich shop at 55 Crowell Road was robbed at gunpoint about 8:45 Saturday night, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
Lt. Mark Mitchell said investigators were told a young black man, wearing all black clothing and a black ski mask entered the store, produced a weapon and demanded money. "He left on foot, traveling north toward the interstate," Mitchell said. He is described as approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. Authorities ask that anyone with information on this incident call the NCSO at 678-625-1400.
