Alcovy High School selects 2008 Homecoming Court

Alcovy High School has selected its Homecoming Court and will crown the winners at its Homecoming football game Friday. Pictured, left to right on the front row are sophomores Garrison Readdy, Hilary Jackson, Katie Childress, John Seymour and Arie Smith, and freshmen Devon Edwards, Ashley Wilkerson, JC Goodson and Danika Lewis. In the center row are juniors Jordan Davis, Matt Spohn, Lea McDonald, Holly Oakes, Adam Foskey, Raven Lawrence and Gary Wilkins. In the back are seniors Tiffany Moody, Natasha Jackson, Oran Allen, Keerie Norrington, Altoine Wilson, Kristin Knight, Darius Baker, Kati Spohn, Brad Williams, Katelyn Turner and Yosia Butso. The school will celebrate Homecoming Week with dress up days and a dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the school. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime at Friday's game. The King will be crowned at the dance.

Man arrested on rape charges

COVINGTON - The Covington Police Department arrested a man in connection with an alleged rape of a 31-year-old woman that took place in the early morning hours Sunday, according to Lt. Wendell Wagstaff.
