Man robbed outside club

COVINGTON - A man reported to the Covington Police Department that he was hit over the head and robbed in the parking lot of Five O'Clock Somewhere in The Gallery shopping center on Turner Lake Road.

According to a CPD incident report, the man said he was leaving the club about midnight Saturday when someone struck him in the back of his head and took his wallet containing more than $600, his driver's license and an assortment of credit cards.

His wedding band and watch were also taken from him, and a digital camera, iPod and sunglasses were stolen from his vehicle.

"He stated he never saw anyone," the report states. "He also stated he did not get into a confrontation with anyone while he was inside the club. ... His cash was on a money clip attached to his wallet, and there is a possibility that someone saw him pull it out of his pocket."

The victim did not file a report on the incident until the next day and told the officer the reason he didn't file the report that night was "because his head was hurting and he wanted to get home."

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
