Almon Precinct Poll Manager Johnnie Campbell and her husband Wayne set up voting machines at the Almon Community House on Monday in preparation for today's election. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. As of Friday afternoon, the last day for early voting, 46 percent of registered voters had already cast their ballots, according to the Newton County Board of Elections. Chairman Hugh Steele predicted turnout could be as high as 90 percent or more.
