Top, Dave Wharton with A Cut Above Shredding and Document Storage of Conyers loads paper into a shredder Wednesday during the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce's Shred Day. Residents and businesses were invited to bring documents to the old Square Market Building on Washington Street, where a truck equipped with a mobile shredder was on site to destroy documents containing identification information. Kennon Carter, co-owner of A Cut Above Shredding, estimated that between 3,000 and 5,000 pounds of paper were shredded Wednesday. The end result of the shredding process is seen at the bottom. All these bits of paper will be recycled.More like this story
