COVINGTON - Four residents of the Leafstone apartment complex were robbed at gunpoint late Saturday night just outside their front door, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
The three women and one man told investigators that two armed black men, dressed in all black clothing, jumped out at them from the left side of the apartment building. One of the men was said to be wearing a hooded sweatshirt and the other a baseball cap, according to an incident report completed by Deputy Douglas Donihe. The men told the victims they wanted their purses and their computers - two of the victims were carrying laptop computers. The robbers fled on foot, taking with them two computers valued at $1,200 - $272 cash, a cell phone valued at $150, a purse and wallet valued at $130, and multiple credit cards.More like this story
