Atlanta-based children's author Evelyn Coleman signs one of her books, "To Be a Drum," for student Jelanie McCray on Monday morning while she visits Ronnie Backs' third-grade class at Fairview Elementary School in Covington. McCray's grandmother is poet Alice Lovelace, who is responsible for recruiting Coleman to the school as a guest. When she wasn't signing books, Coleman talked to students about her works of literature and answered questions from the class. She has 24 books in publication, including "White Socks Only" and her latest, "The Freedom Train." More about Coleman can be found on her Web site, www.evelyncoleman.com.More like this story
