The following food service establishment inspection reports were provided by the Environmental Health Division of the Rockdale County Health Department and the Newton County Health Department. Restaurants that score from 90 to 100 get a letter grade A; those that rate 80-89 get a B; a tally of 70-79 is a C; and below 70 is a U, or unacceptable. A restaurant scoring 70 or above is allowed to operate if there are no critical violations. If a facility is rated U on consecutive inspections, it must close and the owner must prove that it can be operated safely before reopening is allowed.

Violations: Person in charge not performing duties, did not demonstrate knowledge of food service/safety procedures. Employee observed putting on gloves without first washing hands. Outside food stored with clean dishes. Handwash sinks in dish machine area not properly supplied. Sensor of ice maker had mold like substance. Hot-hold items being reheated on steam table. Foods in prep cooler being held at an incorrect temperature. Hot-hold foods being at held at an incorrect temperature. Sanitizer and cleaners being stored over clean dishes. Need thermometer in all cooler units. Employee observed preparing food while wearing unapproved jewelry. Multi-use utensils not properly stored. Utensils stored while wet. Mop sink drain backed up.

Violations: Food items in prep cooler not held at the correct temperature as required. Ice scoop at bar stored in ice bin. Knives used for prep stored between two pieces of equipment. No paper towels in men's restroom.
· Golfside Grill, 46-U, 10400 Covington Bypass, Covington, Date: March 26.
Violations: Employees must wash hands when changing gloves. No soap or towels at handsink at bar. Must wipe knife off with single-use towels. Clean soda sprayer nozzles. Need consumer advisory. Tomatoes out of temperature. Walk-in cooler needs thermostat and adjust door or thawing cycle. Date mark all potentially hazardous foods. Store sanitizer buckets away from food prep. Store chemicals above single-service items. Improper cooling methods. Do not store food items on floor. Employees can not wear jewelry and nails need to be trimmed. Need No Smoking sign posted. Employee handled raw fish and lettuce and tomatoes without changing gloves. Gaskets on prep cooler doors need replacing. Need test strips for measuring sanitizer. Clean up around dumpster and grease recycle container. Seal panels to wall by cook line. Shield light in walk in.

Violations: No employee health policy. No temperature documentation for HACCP plan. Move inspection report to proper location. Need No Smoking sign posted.
· Rockdale County Jail, 94-A, 911 Chambers Drive, Conyers, Date: March 27
Violations: Mold-like substance growing in ice maker. Need current permit posted. Need to shield light in vent hood.
· Rocket Wings, 78-C, 2527 Ga. Highway 81 S., Covington, Date: March 27.
Violations: Need employee health policy. Makeup bag stored in sink in restroom for employees. Cheese left open in walk in. Need to store foods covered. Prep cooler not holding temperature - move food items that are potentially hazardous to a working unit. Need No Smoking sign at entrance way. Clean bottom tray of Coke machine. Store personal items out of food prep areas. Need digital thermometer for checking temperatures.

Violations: Employee observed preparing salad without wearing gloves. Employee preparing food while wearing unapproved jewelry. In use utensils not stored properly. Wet utensils stored one on another.

Violations: Mold-like substance observed in ice maker on shield. Single-serve cups stored directly on counter. Storage drawer under grill soiled.

Violations: Person in charge not observed performing duties. Employees not washing hands as needed. Employee observed drinking from then storing uncovered cup on drink dispenser. Food items not stored properly in walk-in cooler. Soiled utensils stored in clean utensil area. Storage container containing bulk product not labeled as to content. Dispensing utensils stored in product with handle in product. Ice scoop stored in ice bin at drink dispenser. Ice scoop stored with handle in ice in ice maker. Wet utensils stored stacked one on another. Single used containers washed and prepared for reuse.

Violations: Date mark all potentially hazardous ready to eat foods. Need thermometers in all coolers. Keep all food storage 6 inches off floor.

Violations: Employee observed changing tasks without washing hands. Employee observed making incidental bare hand contact with ready to eat food. Ice scoops stored in ice. Cabinet under drink dispenser soiled. Bottom of reach-in cooler in prep/cook area soiled. No air gap at floor drain connection at three-compartment sink. Drain pipe at three-compartment sink leaking. Replace missing coved base at floor as necessary. Replace soiled or damaged ceiling tiles.
