ATLANTA - Police say Atlanta Falcons linebacker Michael Boley was charged with battery following an altercation with his wife on Saturday.
Gwinnett County police arrested Boley, 25, at his Dacula home after his wife, Chantelle, told authorities he 'became physical' with her. Boley was released on $1,200 bond following the misdemeanor arrest. The arrest of a prominent player is news the Falcons were hoping to avoid as they attempt to move past the Michael Vick era with a new coach, Mike Smith, and new general manager, Thomas Dimitroff. The Gwinnett County Police Department did not release the full police report, saying only the offender and victim are issued the report in a domestic violence case. The department did release an account of the arrest. Police were called to Boley's home following an argument between Boley and his wife. According to police, Chantelle Boley said her husband 'became physical with her' during the argument.More like this story
