Man dies after losing control of motorcycle

CONYERS - A 28-year-old Stone Mountain man died Friday night after he lost control of his motorcycle, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.

Albert Darius Nizer, 28, of 553 S. Summit Drive, Stone Mountain, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Farmer Road, said Sgt. Jodi Shupe, spokeswoman with the RCSO.

Shupe said Nizer apparently was traveling on General Arts Road and had just forked onto Farmer Road when he lost control of the motorcycle near 1353 Farmer Road. Nizer was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The speed limit on that road is 25 mph, but investigators do not believe speed was a contributing factor in the accident. However, Shupe said, investigators do believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor and blood and alcohol tests are pending.
