CONYERS - Brandon Crumbley's three-run homer was the key blow in a nine-run third inning as No. 5-ranked Salem (8-1 overall, 6-1 in 8-AAAA) chalked up a 12-1 victory in five innings over visiting Cedar Shoals on Wednesday.
The Seminoles took control of the game by scoring three times in the bottom of the first and then put the game away with nine runs in the third. Drew Denter was also 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Seminoles, while Stephen Brown was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Dustin Dunlop worked the first three innings on the mound to pick up the victory. Salem returns to Region 8-AAAA action today on the road against Winder-Barrow at 5:30 p.m.More like this story
