CONYERS - Three people arrested for alleged involvement in a commercial gambling operation last year have been indicted by the Rockdale County Grand Jury.
Shazeb Abdullah Mistry, 49, of 1895 Hickory Lane in Snellville was indicted for commercial gambling, possession of gambling devices and keeping a gambling place. Jacquelyn Sneed Weaver, 49, of 1550 Morningside Drive in Covington and Ronald Bunch, 54, of 1891 Access Road in Covington, were indicted on the charge of commercial gambling. The charges stem from a Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Narcotic's and Vice unit investigation which resulted in a raid in March of 2007 on three locations on Iris Drive near the Newton County line. Authorities subsequently confiscated gambling material from the locations, including at least seven slot machines. The three will likely be scheduled for arraignment in April and face trial later this spring. Ric Latarski can be reached at ric.latarski@rockdalecitizen.com.More like this story
