CONYERS - Heritage's soccer squads collected a clean sweep of Dutchtown on Monday at Evans Memorial Stadium.
With the slate flip-flopped, the Heritage boys (2-3) picked up a 3-1 win in the opener, while the Heritage girls earned a 6-2 win in the nightcap.
In the boys game, the Patriots trailed early when Zach Silva scored a goal with 29:44 left in the first half.
However, the Patriots were able to even the score with 7:21 left until halftime when Tim Cook slid one by Dutchtown goalkeeper Alfredo Rodriguez.
In the second half, the Patriots took control and went up 2-1 off a penalty kick by John Hiner.
The PK was awarded to Heritage after Dutchtown was called for a hand ball in the box.
Hiner delivered on a low shot into the left corner and put the Patriots up 2-1 with 21:38 left to play.
Heritage's last goal of the game came from Tyler Peoples, who one-timed a pass into the corner of the goal. The shot put Heritage up 3-1 - a score that held until the final horn.
Heritage boys coach Mike Beshiri believes his team played better in the second half.
"The first half was horrible. The second half was a little bit better," he said. "We had a lot more shots on goal, and a lot of those shots hit the cross bar, and that's good."
Meanwhile, the Heritage girls were able to stay undefeated with a 6-2 win in the second game.
The Lady Patriots (5-0) got off to a strong start and put together a fantastic first half, scoring four goals.
Megan Drish, who scored four goals in the game, picked up a hat trick in the first half.
Drish scored the Lady Patriots' first, third, fourth and fifth goals.
Michelle Borg added the other goal in the first half, while Constance Bates capped the scoring with a goal in the final four minutes of the contest.
Heritage girls coach Chad Suddeth said he was pleased to get a win against a quality girls soccer team.
"They (Dutchtown) are a good team and this was a good test for us. The girls responded very well," he said. "We knew they had three really strong players, but our girls executed the game plan perfectly."
Both Lady Bulldogs' goals came from Angie Jolly.
Heritage hits the field again Wednesday with an away doubleheader at Shiloh.
