ATLANTA - Greg Norton doubled home the tying run and then scored on Brian McCann's single in the ninth inning, rallying the Atlanta Braves over the Seattle Mariners 5-4 Saturday night.

Bugging Out

Jule-Lynne Macie, Rockdale County Extension Coordinator, tries not to make any sudden movements while describing the attributes Monday of the Dog Day Cicada perched on her thumb. Insect Camp members found the insect that had apparently just broken from its shell. Macie explained that the wings were still soft and needed to harden, so the class placed it on a nearby tree where it would mature until it was ready to fly away. Insect Camp finished up Friday.

Rebranding is the latest buzzword in political campaigns. Everywhere you look, some politician or politician's spouse is gearing up to play the rebranding game. They try to change who they are and reinvent what they've said. They're hoping voters have forgotten the old brand and will only remember the new trademark on Election Day.

County still looking over ethics plan

CONYERS - Rockdale County officials said Friday a proposed ethics ordinance is close to being released once Common Cause Georgia reviews some suggested changes.
