Four-year-old Alexander Williams is unfazed by hot temperatures Thursday and instead concentrates on the fun he is having pouring a specialized mixture of aquatic soil on top of a lily tuber. Allen Strickland, landscaping supervisor with the city of Conyers, on the other hand, wipes the sweat from his brow after he and his crew removed 20 75-pound flower pots from the pond in Vaughn Memorial Botanical Garden and carried them to the Olde Town Pavilion for the children's activity. The kids then planted new lily tubers, soil and rocks, which will be placed back into the pond.More like this story
