Students and teachers walking down the halls of Ficquett Elementary School will now have a more scenic view. Covington artist Shannon Oglesby has spent part of the summer painting a mural on the main hallway at the school, where her daughter, Bryanna, attends. Shannon started the project during the first week of June and also has painted a picket fence, clouds and crepe myrtle trees along the hallway. She said the entire project, which will include painting the hallway on both sides and the school's foyer, will take at least a couple of more months to complete. She plans to paint a teacher reading to students and students playing with jacks, flying a kite, reading and doing other activities.
