ATHENS - Michael Lemon, a sophomore defensive end for the Georgia Bulldogs, has been dismissed from the team.
In a statement posted Sunday on the team's Web site, head coach Mark Richt says Lemon was dismissed 'as a result of some poor decisions and conduct that is not in line with standards we have in place at Georgia.' Lemon was suspended from the team earlier this month after being charged with punching a student and breaking his eye socket. He is charged with misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated battery. Richt says Lemon expressed a desire return to the team, but that has yet to be decided. Lemon, who comes from Lizella, played in seven games last season and had six total tackles.More like this story
