Fresh sawdust is filling the Tabernacle at Salem Campground and all is ready as the 180th gathering of praise and worship begins tonight. Here, Alcovy High School senior Austin Greenway sweeps the pews to make sure those attending have a good seat for the preaching and singing that promises to rattle the rafters as one of the community's most cherished annual events takes place. Pre-music featuring pianists Alice Walker and Becky Ramsey is set to begin at 7:45 p.m. with services with Dr. Phil DeMore preaching beginning at 8 p.m. For more on Salem Camp Meeting, visit www.salemcampmeeting.org and see Darrell Huckaby's column on page 6A in today's Citizen.More like this story
