Top, Rockdale County firefighters work to extinguish the third residential fire in two days Wednesday. According to Deputy Fire Chief Mike Lee, a call came in around 1:30 p.m. that a home at 1423 Pickett's Court in the Pickett's Ridge subdivision was on fire. The home was totally destroyed by the blaze. Lee said at least four cars were damaged, and one vehicle caught on fire. No other homes in the subdivision were damaged. One Rockdale County firefighter was transported to Rockdale Medical Center, where he was treated for a sprained ankle. Lee said it appeared the fire began on a deck on the rear of the house and is considered accidental.
