The stage is set and blooming like crazy at the 8-acre site of the Sunflower Farm Festival, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1430 Durden Road in Rutledge. Organized in 2001, the festival has become a community and regional event with more than 6,000 in attendance last year. Crafters and artesians will be on hand; traditional Fourth of July fare, including much-anticipated local barbecue, will be served; live music will be played; and there will be an assortment of activities for children. And there will be cut-your-own sunflowers available for sale.
Gathering a bouquet of the beautiful blooms are Conny Kullman and daughter Sherine. Kullman is a vendor at the festival and will have information available on solar products.More like this story
