The Mary Brown Tinkham Chapter of Colonial Dames recently presented Linda Reynolds with the 2007-08 Community Service Award. Reynolds is shown here, center, displaying her award, with chapter treasurer Dianne Passmore, left, and chapter president Fran Passmore. The Colonial Dames honored Reynolds for her long history of service to the Rockdale County community. The mother of five children and grandmother of six, Reynolds, who is married to Ron Reynolds, has been a 4-H Club leader overseeing youth in wildlife management projects and BB gun competitions. From 1965 through 2007, Reynolds took an annual week vacation from work to teach vacation Bible school and served as a children's Sunday school teacher for 30 years. She also contributed 52 hours of volunteer time to the community when she became certified as a master gardener. Recently retired from the Rockdale/Newton Citizen, Reynolds wrote a cooking column, a column highlighting community volunteers and a history column.
