Fourteen Lorraine Elementary School fourth-grade students recently received an honor. Last year, all third-grade students at the school participated in the Georgia Power/Lake Jackson Boating Safety 2008 calendar illustration contest. The students drew and submitted pictures that illustrated a need for environmental responsibility, stewardship and water safety. Fourteen illustrations were chosen for the 2008 calendar, all of which were drawn by the Lorraine Elementary School students who are now fourth-graders. Georgia Power recently came to the school and presented the calendars to every fourth-grade student. the students, along with some other gifts. and rewarded them with some nice gifts.
