A male student was arrested at Alpha Academy on Friday morning after he allegedly attacked a female student and broke a window at the school.
Major Bridges, principal at Alpha Academy, sent a recorded message via ConnectEd to parents Friday evening advising of the incident. "Today, at approximately 11:15 a.m., a male student attacked a female student in his classroom," Bridges said. "After the altercation, the male student left the room and continued to be aggressive in the hallway. He damaged some of the walls and broke the window in the main office." Bridges said the entire school went into lockdown procedures. "According to the parents of the female student, she was OK," Bridges said. Conyers Police Department officers responded to the scene. The incident report was not available by press time Saturday. "This is a very serious incident that should not happen in any school," Bridge said. "I want to assure you we have a safe and orderly environment, and we will take all steps to ensure your child is safe while attending our school."More like this story
