COVINGTON - A Covington man was killed Monday night following a single car accident on Rocky Plains Road near Lower River Road.
According to a spokesman with the Georgia State Patrol, the victim, 36-year-old Franklin Bridges, was driving around a curve in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado when he over-corrected and lost control of the pickup truck. Bridges, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the GSP. Drugs are alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash.More like this story
