Mr. and Mrs. Doug and Cindy Carter of Covington announce the engagement of their beloved daughter, Shanna Michelle Carter, to Joseph Michael Irving, son of Santa Tom Irving and wife Terry of Conyers, and son of Shirley Salas and husband Jose of Gainesville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. William Carter and Mrs. Clara Carter of Social Circle on her father's side, and of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin and Betty Pitts of Stone Mountain on her mother's side. The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and Marian Irving of Conyers on his father's side, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Donald and Lillie Mae Howard of Buford on his mother's side. Shanna is a graduate of Kennesaw State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education and teaches ninth grade literature in Cobb County. Michael works for Reflexis Customer Operations Group in Kennesaw and is a freelance photographer. A 5 p.m. wedding, with a reception to follow, will be held April 6 in the Park Tavern meadow at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.More like this story
