COVINGTON - Two men were arrested last week by Newton County authorities for suspicion of child molestation.
The suspects, Michael Alvin Miller, 47, of 250 Lake Side Point, and Brent Walter Hill, 17, of 12145 Ga. Highway 36, were both booked into the Newton County Detention Center on Feb.14. According to Investigator Sharron Stewart, spokeswoman for the Newton County Sheriff's Office, Miller was taken into custody for allegedly having inappropriate contact with a 4-year-old boy last month at a residence inside the Enclave subdivision off of Fairview Road. Stewart said that Miller was reportedly a friend of the victim's family. In addition to child molestation, Miller has also been charged with one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes. According to Stewart, Hill was taken into custody for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl. Stewart said that Hill and the victim were friends and that the alleged crime took place several weeks ago at a residence inside the Eagle Point Mobile Home Park on Ga. 36.
