Senate OKs mid-year budget

ATLANTA - The Senate Thursday overwhelmingly approved a mid-year budget that includes new spending for water, health care and education.

COVINGTON - Residents of Cottage Links at Corrydell, a retirement community located off the Covington By-Pass, are alleging that a developer misused their homeowners association fees and have applied for a warrant to have him arrested.

Man accused of dragging woman during robbery

CONYERS - A Porterdale man accused of dragging a woman with his car while attempting to snatch her purse has been arrested by Conyers police, but he could face further charges by sheriffs' offices in Rockdale and Newton counties.

NCSS destroys all of recalled beef

COVINGTON - A Newton County School System official said Wednesday that its nutrition department has destroyed all of the recalled beef, but more cases of the questionable meat may need to be destroyed later.
