Throughout February, Rockdale County students are celebrating Black History Month at school. This week, Lorraine Elementary students and faculty dressed as famous black Americans and decorated the hallways and classrooms to commemorate Black History Month. The students portrayed a variety of renowned figures such as Barack Obama, Ida B. Wells, Mae Jemison, Charles Drew, Shirley Chisholm, C. J. Walker, Hank Aaron, Frederick Douglass and other athletes, political figures and historical individuals.
