Judge elected officer for Leadership Georgia

COVINGTON - Superior Court Judge Horace Johnson, of the Alcovy Judicial Circuit, has been elected vice president of the 2008 Board of Trustees of Leadership Georgia.

Johnson is a graduate of Oxford College, Emory University Business School and the School of Law at the University of Georgia.

While in law school, he served as the Recent Developments Editor on the Managing Board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and was president of the Black Law Students Association.

Johnson is a graduate of Leadership DeKalb County. His community involvement includes service as Past Vice-Chair for the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce; Past President of the Arts Association in Newton County; and as a member of the boards of directors for the Community Foundation of Newton County and Washington Street Community Center.

He has also served on the Board of Counselors for Oxford College and is a member of the Covington Kiwanis Club.

Johnson is an active member of Columbia Drive United Methodist Church.

Through representation in Leadership Georgia by young community leaders, Georgia communities are alerted to each other's problems and mutual interests.

Johnson will serve as the 2010 chairman of the Leadership Georgia Board of Trustees.
