CONYERS - Parents, school faculty and community members are invited take a break from their jobs and home lives to become students for a night.
Rockdale County Public Schools will host "An Evening of Learning," beginning at 4:45 p.m. Monday at Edwards Middle School, located at 2633 Stanton Road S.E., in Conyers.
According to school officials, the purpose of the event is "to increase opportunities for community involvement and educational training, to provide instructional best practice training for (Rockdale County Public Schools) employees (and) to provide opportunities for diversity training and awareness."
A similar event was held in November.
Attendees will be able to attend one or both sessions - session one is from 4:45 to 6:45 p.m., and session two is from 7 to 8:45 p.m. A snack will be served at 6:45 p.m.
During session one, attendees have a choice of participating in 11 different workshops, such as Difficult Children 101, Learning Styles/Multiple Intelligences, Bio-Fuel Initiatives and Higher Level Thinking Skills.
In session two, guests have a choice of nine workshops, including Georgia Performance Standards for Parents, Understanding a Standards-Based Classroom for Parents and Office 2007, as well as some of the topics from session one.
