Kennesaw State University freshman Michael Guntner recorded a new personal best in the 800-meter run at the Texas Roadhouse Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., last weekend.
The former Heritage runner finished 21st with a time of 1 minute, 59.10 seconds. He also ran the anchor leg on KSU's 400-meter B relay team, which finished 11th in 3:28.30. His former Heritage teammate, Jeremy Easley, also was part of the Owls' 400 relay team. Heritage grad Josh James also competed at the invitational. The freshman finished 48th in the 60-meter dash in 7.35 seconds and he placed 22nd in the 200-meter dash in 22.95 seconds. Former Heritage standout runner Soibhan Wolcott also participated in the Texas Roadhouse Invitational for the Kennesaw State's womens indoor track team. Wolcott posted a time of 5 minutes, 21.21 seconds and finished 24th in the mile. BASKETBALL Mitchell pulls down 12 boards for Agnes Scott Rockdale grad Nicole Mitchell pulled down 12 rebounds in Agnes Scott's 62-47 loss to Piedmont on Feb. 8. Mitchell also tallied two steals and an assist for Agnes Scott. Dobbs scores 13 points against Ga. Perimeter Former Heritage standout Jaquas Dobbs tallied 13 points in Truett-McConnell's 79-77 loss to Georgia Perimeter College on Feb. 7. Dobbs, a sophomore, is now averaging 13 points and 6.8 rebounds a game for the Bears. He is shooting 59 percent from the field.
