To the editor:
On behalf of the senior citizens of Newton County, I would like to thank Dr. Whatley and the school board for enabling the voters of Newton County to vote on giving some tax relief to the senior citizens, most of whom live on a fixed income. I would also like to thank the voters of Newton County who understood the problem that seniors have and approved the increase in the homestead exemption by 87 percent. Thank you, thank you. Frank J.
