ATHENS - The Rockdale boys basketball team moved back into second place in Region 8-AAAA South with a 58-54 win over the Cedar Shoals Jaguars on Friday night.
The win moved the Bulldogs to 12-8 overall and 5-3 in subregion play. Rockdale and Cedar Shoals are tied for second place at 5-3 in 8-AAAA South, but the Bulldogs own the tiebreaker after chalking up a sweep in the season series. Jonathan Gissentanner led the offensive charge with 19 points. Ryan Watts added 15, and Cordarryl Bethly chipped in 14. The Rockdale girls dropped an 87-56 decision to Cedar Shoals.More like this story
