The Salem girls advanced to the semifinals of the Henry County Classic with a 60-53 victory over Miller Grove on Saturday afternooon.
In boys action, Rockdale chalked up a 76-67 win over Mill Creek at the Dacula Round Robin Tournament.
Meanwhile, the Salem boys squared off with Henry County in Saturday's late game at the Henry County Classic.
Salem 60, Miller Grove 53
At McDonough, senior Precious Elkins had 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Lady Seminoles (11-1) secured their 10th straight victory of the season.
Salem returns to action in the tournament at 4 p.m. Monday against the winner of Saturday's clash between Jackson and Morrow.
Junior Ariel Wynter added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Seminoles, who are ranked No. 3 in Class AAAA. Shardai Harrison finished the game with 12 points, while Jaleen Thomas chipped in 10.
"We played OK, we played solid," Salem coach Bill Roberts said. "After playing a real close game last night against Jones County, I was afraid we might come out a little sluggish. We came out, developed a lead and never trailed. They made some runs at us, but each time we responded."
Dougherty 45, Eastside 37
At Macon, the Lady Eagles (2-4) dropped their opening round game in the Great Southern Shoot-Out at Westside-Macon High School.
Eastside will now play Howard in the tournament at noon Monday.
The Lady Eagles beat county rival Alcovy 50-41 on Friday night.
Rockdale 76, Mill Creek 67
At Dacula, the Bulldogs (8-2) got back on the winning track with a victory in their opening game at the Dacula Round Robin Tournament.
Julius Giles paced the Bulldogs with a game-high 19 points, while Kevin Ware chipped in 17. Jonathan Gissentanner added 13.
Rockdale closes out tournament play against host Dacula at 6 p.m. Monday.
