COVINGTON - A 70-year-old Covington man died in a one-vehicle crash on Oak Hill Road near Berkshire Drive on July 22, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sgt. 1st Class Frank Pfirman of Conyers Post 46.
James Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2007 Nissan he was driving eastbound crossed over the center line, went up an embankment and rolled over several times before it came to rest in the eastbound lane. Pfirman said it appeared that Arnold was ejected from the vehicle and his body hit another vehicle. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, although Pfirman noted that neither weather nor speed appeared to be factors. Results of blood tests are pending.
